(UMDA), IS A FACULTY PRACTICE GROUP EXISTING TO PROVIDE MEDICAL EDUCATION AND PATIENT SERVICES AS AN ADJUNCT TO THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. MEDICAL CARE IS PROVIDED TO ALL PATIENTS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. THE MEMBER PHYSICIANS AND HOSPITALS IN WHICH THE PHYSICIANS PROVIDE SERVICES HAVE CHARITY CARE POLICIES FOR THOSE PATIENTS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY. IN ADDITION, CONTRIBUTIONS ARE MADE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE OF THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE FOR WHOSE BENEFIT UMDA IS OPERATED, AS WELL AS FOR ACTIVITIES WHICH MAY FURTHER THE PROGRESS OF MEDICAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION INCLUDING PROVIDING REQUIRED FACILITIES NECESSARY TO MEET THESE GOALS.
