EDUCATIONAL SERVICESSTUDENTS HAVE ACQUIRED A BROAD FOUNDATION IN THE LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES THROUGH THE GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM TOGETHER WITH A DEPTH OF KNOWLEDGE IN ONE OR MORE DISCIPLINES OF THEIR CHOICE. PERSONAL GROWTH HAS BEEN ACHIEVED THROUGH IMPROVED CRITICAL SELF-AWARENESS AND PERSONAL CREATIVITY. STUDENTS HAVE MASTERED COMMUNICATION, ORGANIZATIONAL, AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND HAVE GAINED AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE GLOBAL NATURE OF OUR WORLD, LEARNED ABOUT OTHER CULTURES, AND LEARNED TO APPRECIATE DIVERSITY AND TOLERANCE. THEY HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PROGRAMS. STUDENTS HAVE ALSO LEARNED TO SEEK AND USE AVAILABLE RESOURCES, INCLUDING TECHNOLOGY, TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND SOLVE PROBLEMS. STUDENTS HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGED TO BECOME COMMITTED TO LIFELONG LEARNING.
AUXILIARY ENTERPRISESEDUCATION IS MORE THAN A CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE. STUDENT PARTICIPATION AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY PROVIDES AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO ENRICH THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRIENDSHIPS AND THE EXPOSURE TO NEW IDEAS, PEOPLE, AND CULTURES. OUR RESIDENCE HALLS, APARTMENTS AND HOUSES ARE MORE THAN JUST PLACES TO EAT AND SLEEP; LIVING ON CAMPUS IS AN EXPERIENCE IN HUMAN RELATIONS FOR OUR STUDENTS.THE UNIVERSITY OF EVANSVILLE COMPETES AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS: NCAA DIVISION I. UE IS A MEMBER OF THE MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE. THE MISSION OF THE UE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT IS TO PROVIDE STUDENT-ATHLETES WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE AT THE DIVISION I LEVEL WHILE RECEIVING A QUALITY EDUCATION CONSISTENT WITH THE MISSION OF THE UNIVERSITY. THE ATHLETICS EXPERIENCE IS AN EXTENSION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS WHEREBY STUDENT-ATHLETES ACQUIRE THE SKILL, CHARACTERISTICS AND SELF-CONFIDENCE TO ENABLE THEM TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, BOTH IN ATHLETICS AND IN LIFE.
