THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IS A FRATERNAL BENEFICIAL SOCIETY ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE INSURANCE BENEFITS TO ITS MEMBERS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS. IT ALSO SUPPORTS CHARITABLE, CIVIC, RELIGIOUS AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL 732, LOOGOOTEE, INDIANA IS A FRATERNAL BENEFICIAL SOCIETY THAT IS OPERATED UNDER A "COUNCIL SYSTEM" FOR THE EXCLUSIVE BENEFIT OF ITS MEMBERS. COUNCIL 732 IS LARGELY SELF GOVERNING AND CARRIES ON ITS ACTIVITIES UNDER A GROUP EXEMPTION RULING FROM THE IRS RECEIVED BY THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS NATIONAL ORGANIZATION IN 1940. THIS GROUP TAX EXEMPTIONS EXTENDS TO SUBORDINATE COUNCILS SUCH AS COUNCIL 732. COUNCIL 732 HAS AN ESTABLISHED SYSTEM FOR THE PAYMENT TO ITS MEMBERS AND THEIR DEPENDENTS OF LIFE INSURANCE AND OTHER INSURANCE BENEFITS.


FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS, CIVIC AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIATIONS SUCH AS THE GIBAULT SCHOOL FOR BOYS & GIRLS. THIS ORGANIZATION SERVES TROUBLED CHILDREN AND PROVIDES A SCHOOL FOR GETTING ITS STUDENTS BACK ON TRACK EMOTIONALLY AND ACADEMICALLY. THE GOAL BEING TO HELP THEM BECOME LAW ABIDING AND PRODUCTIVE ADULTS.


THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ALSO SUPPORTS VARIOUS LOCAL CHARITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS FINANCIALLY. SOME OF THE PROGRAMS ARE YOUTH ACTIVITES EMPHASIZING SPORTSMANSHIP, ACADEMIC PROGRAMS WHICH ENCOURAGE CATHOLIC YOUTH TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AND OTHER PROGRAMS WHICH SUPPORT CIVIC AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.
