THE ORRVILLE YMCA PROVIDES FUN ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS. IT OFFERS A FITNESS CENTER, CHILD CARE PROGRAMS, SWIMMING LESSONS, MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTION AND ADULTS AND YOUTH ORGANIZED SPORTS LEAGUES.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: THE YMCA IS COMMITTED TO NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN. THE Y BELIEVES THAT ALL KIDS DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE. THAT IS WHY THE Y HELPS YOUNG PEOPLE CULTIVATE VALUES, SKILLS AND RELATIONSHIPS THAT LEAD TO POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, BETTER HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. THE YMCA PROGRAMS OFFERED, SUCH AS CHILD CARE, SWIM AND GYMNASTICS LESSONS AND TEAMS, YOUTH SPORTS, OFFER A RANGE OF EXPERIENCES THAT ENRICH COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL GROWTH.
THE ORRVILLE YMCA MERGED WITH THE WOOSTER YMCA EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019. ALL 2019 ACTIVITIES ARE BEING CONDUCTED UNDER THE NAME OF THE NEW MERGED ENTITY YMCA OF WAYNE COUNTY. THE ORRVILLE YMCA WAS IN THE PROCESS OF WINDING UP ALL ACTIVITES DURING 2019 AND TRANSFERRING ALL ASSETS TO THE NEW MERGED ENTITY.
HEALTHY LIVING: THE YMCA IS A LEADING VOICE ON HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. THE YMCA BRINGS FAMILIES CLOSER TOGETHER, ENCOURAGES GOOD HEALTH AND FOSTERS CONNECTIONS THROUGH FITNESS, SPORTS, FUN AND SHARED INTERESTS. AS A RESULT, PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY ARE RECEIVING THE SUPPORT, GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE GREATER HEALTH IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT AS THE NATION STRUGGLES WITH AN OBESITY CRISIS, FAMILIES STRUGGLE WITH WORK/LIFE BALANCE AND INDIVIDUALS SEARCH FOR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT. THE YMCA PROGRAMS INCLUDE HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLASSES, SENIOR EXERCISE CLASSES AND SOCIAL TRIPS, PRIVATE LESSONS AND PERSONAL TRAINING.
