TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS THE WHOLE WELL-BEING OF THE LOW INCOME, THE AT RISK, AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION, TRAINING, PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT AND CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT.

SERVICE TO APPROXIMATELY 110 STUDENTS. AFTER SCHOOL & SUMMER READING/TUTORING PROGRAM FOR AT RISK STUDENTS IN GRADES K-5. SESSIONS ARE HELD IN SUMMER FOR FIVE TO SIX WEEKS, TWO HOURS PER DAY, MONDAY-THURSDAY. VOLUNTEER TUTORS ARE PROVIDED FROM LOCAL COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS. STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED ONE ON ONE OR SMALL GROUP TUTORING WHICH AIDES IN HELPING THEM REACH THE GRADE LEVEL AND KEEP UP WITH THE LARGER CLASS ROOM SETTING.SERVICE TO APPROXIMATELY 33 AT RISK CHILDREN FROM GRADES 3-12 WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES. THIS IS A YEAR ROUND MENTORSHIP/COUNSELING/RECREATION PROGRAM WITH FULL ACTIVITIES IN SUMMER MONTHS WHEN CHILDREN ARE NOT IN SCHOOL.
