LIFESHARE COMMUNITY BLOOD SERVICES IS A COMMUNITY- FOCUSED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A SAFE AND ADEQUATE BLOOD SUPPLY AND COMPONENT SUPPLY FOR PATIENT HEALTHCARE IN NORTHEAST OHIO. WITH THE DEEP UNDERSTANDING THAT DONORS ARE OUR MOST VALUABLE COMMUNITY RESOURCE, WE STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER CARE.

LIFESHARE'S SERVICES INCLUDED RECRUITMENT, COLLECTION, TESTING, PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTION OF WHOLE BLOOD AND COMPONENTS FOR HOSPITALS. LIFESHARE IS A MEMBER OF AMERICA'S BLOOD CENTERS, THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF INDEPENDENT BLOOD CENTERS, IS ACCREDITED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF BLOOD BANKS AND LICENSED BY THE FDA. IN 2014 LIFESHARE DISTRIBUTED OVER 70,000 UNITS OF BLOOD PRODUCTS.
6,119 UNITS OF PHERESIS PLATELETS WERE COLLECTED. THESE UNITS ARE TRANSFUSED INTO INDIVIDUALS BATTLING CANCER OR LEUKEMIA. PLATELETS HELP PATIENT'S BLOOD CLOT AND PREVENT FATAL HEMORRHAGING.
THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES PATIENT PROGRAMS SUCH AS AUTOLOGOUS DONATIONS (DONATIONS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL'S OWN SURGERY), DIRECTED DONATIONS (DONATIONS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OWN SURGERY), THERAPUETIC PHLEBOTOMY (INDIVIDUALS WHOSE IRON IS TOO HIGH) AND OTHER SIMILAR SERVICES. DURING 2013, 828 UNITS OF THESE SERVICES WERE DRAWN.
