THE OHIO GROCERS ASSOCIATION IS COMMITTED TO THE WELL-BEING AND PROGRESS OF THE OHIO FOOD INDUSTRY AND IT'S MEMBERS. THE PURPOSE IS TO REPRESENT THE MEBERSHIP THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY EFFORTS.

THE ASSOCIATION HOLDS AN ANNUAL EVENT, OR GALA, IN THE SPRING OF EACH YEAR. THE PURPOSE IS TO ALLOW MEMBERS AND SPONSORS TO JOIN TOGETHER AND NETWORK WITH ONE ANOTHER AND SHARE IDEAS PERTINENT TO THE FOOD INDUSTRY. THE ANNUAL EVENT WAS HELD AS A "VIRTUAL EVENT" IN 2021 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
THE ASSOCIATION HOLDS A SECOND ANNUAL EVENT, OR GOLF OUTING, IN THE SUMMER OF EACH YEAR. THE PURPOSE IS TO ALLOW MEMBERS AND SPONSORS TO JOIN TOGETHER AND NETWORK WITH ONE ANOTHER AND SHARE IDEAS PERTINENT TO THE FOOD INDUSTRY WHILE PARTICIPATING IN A GOLF TOURNAMENT USED AS A FUND RAISING EVENT.
THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUALLY ADVOCATES FOR THE OHIO GROCERY INDUSTRY. EACH LEGISLATIVE SESSION THE ASSOCIATION TRACKS DOZENS OF BILLS IN OHIO AND DOZENS MORE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL, PROPOSING STATUTORY CHANGES IN THE BROAD AREAS OF: BUDGET/FINANCE, TAXATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, LABOR RELATIONS, FOOD SAFETY AND NUTRITION, LIQUOR, TOBACCO, PHARMACY, AND AGRICULTURE. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO ENGAGES IN EXTENSIVE REGULATORY WORK ON ISSUES DIRECTLY IMPACTING ITS MEMBERS. THE ASSOCIATION WORKS CONTINUALLY TO FOSTER RELATIONSHIPS WITH ELECTED AND AGENCY OFFICIALS.
