THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION FOR ART & HEALING IS TO USE ITS POSITION AS A "BRIDGE" TO CREATE AND EXPAND GENERAL AWARENESS ABOUT ART AND HEALING, TO BRING FORWARD THROUGH RESEARCH AND RELATED EXPLORATIONS CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ART AND HEALING AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM, AND TO HELP MAKE THIS KNOWLEDGE AVAILABLE AT THE INDIVIDUAL AND COMMUNITY LEVEL.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THROUGH ITS SIGNATURE INITIATIVE CALLED PROJECT UNLONELY, FAH DEVELOPS AND DELIVERS CREATIVE ARTS BASED PROGRAMMING THAT 1) INCREASES AWARENESS OF LONELINESS AND SOCIAL ISOLATION AND ITS NEGATIVE IMPACT ON PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING, 2) REDUCES THE STIGMA THAT SURROUNDS IT, AND 3) OFFERS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS THE UNDERSTANDING, SKILLS, MOTIVATION AND SUPPORT REQUIRED TO BE LESS LONELY AND HEALTHIER. THE PROJECT UNLONELY PROGRAM PORTFOLIO ADDRESSES DIFFERENT RISK FACTORS FOR LONELINESS (E.G. AGING, DISCRIMINATION, ILLNESS, TRAUMA, ETC.) AND ARE DELIVERED VIRTUALLY AND IN PERSON, EITHER DIRECTLY BY FAH OR THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS. PROGRAM CONTENT INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT CURRICULA, TRAINING TOOLS FOR PROGRAM FACILITATORS AND EVALUATION TEMPLATES TO ASSESS IMPACT. FAH AWARENESS AND COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES ALSO INCLUDES THE USE OF SHORT FILMS THAT CAN BE WATCHED BY INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS, AND LEAD TO DISCUSSIONS THAT PROVIDE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF LONELINESS AND WAYS TO BE BETTER CONNECTED.
