THE PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COUNCIL SHALL BE TO STUDY AND ADDRESS ISSUES IN THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY ON A GLOBAL BASIS. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THE VISION STATEMENT OF THE COUNCIL SHALL BE TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPLY CHAIN BY GIVING VOICE TO KEY INDUSTRY ISSUES, AND THEN TO SERVE AS THE CONDUIT TO DRIVE NEEDED IMPROVEMENTS GLOBALLY. AS WELL, THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE COUNCIL SHALL BE TO ENABLE AND DRIVE THE ADOPTION OF OPEN AND COMMON BUSINESS PROCESSES ACROSS THE GLOBAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPLY CHAIN, WHILE ACTIVELY CREATING UNDERSTANDABLE INDUSTRY PERFORMANCE BENCHMARKS ON THE ENTIRE SUPPLY CHAIN.
