THE SOCIETY FOR FINANCIAL AWARENESS 33-0700097 STATEMENT 1 - FORM 990, PART III - STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES: THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES OF THIS CORPORATION SHALL BE: A. TO ESTABLISH A SPEAKERS BUREAU THAT WILL PROVIDE KNOWLEDGEABLE PROFESSIONAL SPEARKERS (FINANCIAL PLANNERS, ACCOUNTANTS, TRUST OFFICERS AND ATTORNEYS) WHO WILL DONATE THEIR TIME AND SERVICE TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL EDUCATION TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. B. TO ESTABLISH PROGRAMS THROUGH AREA CHURCHES, TEMPLES AND SYNAGOGUES WHEREBY VOLUNTEERS WILL BE INLISTED TO WORK WITH VARIOUS GROUPS OF THE CHURCH (SENIOR CITIZENS, YOUNG COUPLES, ETC.) TO ASSIST THEM WITH THEIR FINANCIAL CONCERNS. C. TO ASSIST SENIOR CITIZEN CENTERS IN THE COMMUNITY IN CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS FOR THEIR MEMBERS IN LONG-TERM HEALTH CARE CONCERNS. D. TO CONDUCT SEMINARS, AND PREPARE AND DISSEMINATE PUBLICATIONS, DESIGNED TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT ASSET ALLOCATION, CASH MANAGEMENT, RETRIREMENT PLANNING, INVESTMENT PLANNING, AND ESTATE PLANNING. E. TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME FAMILIES TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION AND EDUCATION NECESSARY TO PREPARE AND FILE THEIR OWN FEDERAL AND STATE TAX RETURNS EACH YEAR. THROUGH WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS PRESENTED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, THE SOCIETY FOR FINANCIAL AWARENESS (SOFA) HAS BEEN HELPING INDIVIDUALS ACQUIRE FINANCIAL EDUCATION TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN PLANNING FOR THEIR FUTUER. THROUGH THESE EFFORTS SOFA HAS HELPED PEOPLE BECOME AWARE OF RISK MANAGEMENT, INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES, AND TAX SAVINGS. EACH WORKSHOP IS CUSTOMIZED TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN IDENTIFYING AND QUALIFYING HIS OR HER PERSONAL AND FAMILY FINANCIAL PLANNING NEEDS. ALL SOFA EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE AT NO CHARGE TO CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY GROUPS FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION.
