THE LOKER STUDENT UNION, INC. MAINTAINED THE OPERATION OF A 120,000 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY WHICH HOUSES THE VARIOUS SERVICES AND CENTERS THAT SUPPORT THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE AT CSUDH. IN 2021-2022 THE FACILITY RE-OPENED ITS DOORS AND RESUMED OPERATIONS TO SERVE THE GRADUAL RETURN OF THE CAMPUS POPULATION. THE FACILITY RE-OPENED WITH MODIFICATIONS TO SPACES TO ENSURE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT AS SERVICES WERE REINSTATED. THE LOKER STUDENT UNION INC. DISCONTINUED THE OPERATION OF THE OUTDOOR SPACE CREATED TO SUPPORT STUDENTS DURING THE PANDEMIC. FURTHERMORE, THROUGH THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY, STUDENT FEES COLLECTED BY THE UNIVERSITY ON BEHALF OF THE STUDENT UNION ARE USED TO SERVICE THE DEBT INCURRED TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE LOKER STUDENT UNION BUILDING.
THROUGH ITS ACTIVITIES OFFICE, THE LOKER STUDENT UNION, INC. PROVIDES A SOCIALLY ENGAGING ARRAY OF PROGRAMS AND EVENTS FOR THE CSUDH STUDENTS. THESE EVENTS FOCUS ON COMMUNITY BUILDING AND VALUE-ADDS TO STUDENTS CONTINUING THEIR EDUCATIONAL PURSUITS DURING THE PANDEMIC CRISIS. TO MEET STUDENT NEEDS THROUGH THE LENS OF INCLUSIVITY, HYBRID AND VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES WERE OFFERED AND EXPANDED DURING THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR. POPULAR ENGAGEMENTS INCLUDE REGULAR STUDENT SUCCESS GIVEAWAYS, COMMUNITY BUILDING IN LIVE AND VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS AND THE RETURN OF THE ORGANIZATION'S OPEN HOUSE EVENT. ADDITIONALLY, THROUGH PROGRAM PARTNERS ON CAMPUS, THE LSU ACTIVITIES OFFICE PROVIDES SUPPORT TO CAMPUS WIDE PROGRAMS AND CO-SPONSORS EVENTS WITH ACADEMIC AND STUDENT LIFE PARTNERS. DURING THE 2021-2022 YEAR, AS THE CAMPUS BEGAN TO SLOW REPOPULATE AND THE LSU RE-OPENED TO THE PUBLIC AFTER COVID-19, THIS OFFICE HOSTED OR CO-HOSTED 89 STUDENT-FACING VIRTUAL ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS, 3 HYBRID EVENTS, AND 1 LIVE MAJOR EVENT (SPRING 2022 OPEN HOUSE: TOROTOPIA INTO THE TOROVERSE).
