THE FOUNDATION GRANTED $838,601 IN 2023. 75% OF THE GRANTS MADE IN 2023 SUPPORTED SAN DIEGO COUNTY NONPROFITS AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS. DONOR ADVISORS MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE FOUNDATION FOR GRANT DISTRIBUTIONS FROM THEIR FUNDS. GRANTS ARE APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. GRANTS SUPPORT A WIDE VARIETY OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS LOCALLY, REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY.COASTAL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FULFILLS OUR MISSION BY PROVIDING A FLEXIBLE WAY FOR DONORS WITH VARIED PHILANTHROPIC DESIRES THROUGH ITS SERVICES TO INCLUDE SETTING UP DONOR ADVISED FUNDS (DAFS) IN WHICH A DONOR CAN CONTRIBUTE ASSETS TO THEIR FUND AT ANY TIME AND MAKE GRANT RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS OR CAUSES OF THEIR CHOICE; FIELD OF INTEREST FUNDS IN WHICH A DONOR CAN CONTRIBUTE AND PARTICIPATE IN GRANT AWARDS IN A FOCUSED PROGRAM AREA; DESIGNATED FUNDS ALLOWING A DONOR TO SUPPORT ONE OR MORE NAMED ORGANIZATIONS IN PERPETUITY; SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS TO BENEFIT STUDENTS OF ANY AGE OR EDUCATION LEVEL; AGENCY FUNDS WHERE OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS CAN INVEST THEIR OWN PERMANENT ENDOWMENTS THROUGH THE FOUNDATION; GIVING CIRCLES (HAND TO HAND, SOLANA BEACH FUND, ENCINITAS FUND, AND GIVING WITH IMPACT) WHICH IS COMPRISED OF LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS WHO COMBINE THEIR GIFTS INTO ONE FUND AND SHARE IN THE GRANT MAKING DECISIONS; AND PROJECT FUNDS CAN BE INVESTED IN BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS RESPONDING TO A CAMPAIGN INITIATED BY THE FOUNDATION TO MEET A COMMUNITY NEED.COASTAL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HAS DISCRETIONARY, COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAMS AND SCHOLARSHIPS.
