THE MISSION OF THE STEM GREENHOUSE IS TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER DEMOGRAPHIC GROUPS THAT ARE UNDER-REPRESENTED IN SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS FIELDS BY PROVIDING PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE STEM SKILLS FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH GRADE STUDENTS.

SAGE THE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, GARDENING AND ECOLOGY (SAGE) IS CREATED TO INSPIRE MIDDLE STUDENTS IN BIPOC COMMUNITIES IN GRAND RAPIDS TO LEARN ABOUT SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT. THE SAGE PROGRAM IS AN EIGHT-WEEK STEM GREENHOUSE PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR 6TH, 7TH, AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS IN COLLABORATION WITH SELECTED SCHOOLS IN THE GRAND RAPIDS AREA.
SANKOFA STEM ACADEMY THE WORD "SANKOFA" IS DERIVED FROM THE TWI LANGUAGE OF GHANA, AND IT MEANS "TO RETRIEVE," BY LOOKING TO THE PAST TO TEACH ABOUT THE FUTURE. THE SANKOFA STEM ACADEMY PROGRAM IS A CAREFULLY CURATED 5-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM THAT IS DESIGNED FOR MINORITY STUDENTS. WE TAKE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO EMPOWER OUR STUDENTS AND GIVE THEM THE CONFIDENCE TO APPROACH STEM SUBJECTS, AND EXCEL.
STEM SCHOLARS STEM SCHOLARS IS AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. WITH A CAREFUL SELECTION OF TOOLS AND INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS TO GIVE THEM THE RESOURCES THAT THEY NEED TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFICIENT IN SCIENCE AND MATH-RELATED SUBJECTS. STEM SCHOLARS 2.0 STEM SCHOLARS 2.0 IS OUR HIGH SCHOOL WRAPAROUND SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THIS PROGRAM OFFERS TUTORING, SPEAKERS, FIELD TRIPS, SUMMER CLASSES, COLLEGE INFORMATION, AND TEACHER SUPPORT. SELECT STUDENTS ALSO ARE ABLE TO TAKE THEIR CORE CLASSES IN COHORTS.
KIDS COUNT KIDS COUNT IS AN AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM SERVING KIDS IN THE 3RD THROUGH 5TH GRADES. IT INSPIRES STUDENTS TO EXCEL IN STEM WITH A FOCAL POINT ON MATHEMATICS BY OFFERING A COOL, CLUB CULTURE THAT INCLUDES FUN ACTIVITIES AND GAMES. KIDS COUNT IS A CATALYST FOR MAKING MATH FUN FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE OTHERWISE INTIMIDATED OR SCARED OF MATH.
