THE DAYTON DENTAL SOCIETY ACTIVELY SUPPORTS OHIO DENTAL ASSN SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM "READING FOR SMILES." THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS TO FUTURE DENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED ACADEMIC ABILITY AND FINANCIAL NEED. IN ADDITION, THE PROGRAM AWARDS GRANTS TO COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH PROGRAMS. THE SOCIETY PROVIDES A NUMBER OF SOCIAL EVENTS WHERE MEMBERS CAN CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER TO DISCUSS PROFESSIONAL ISSUES AND CHANGES. THESE EVENTS SOMETIMES COMBINE WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO EARN CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CREDITS NECESSARY FOR LICENSURE.
