AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM - CONDUCTED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS, COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS, VOLUNTEER TRAINING, CURRICULA DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENT PUBLICATION. TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS GIVE TEACHERS THE SKILLS, TOOLS, AND BACKGROUND TO BE ABLE TO USE AGRICULTURE AND STEM CONCEPTS AS A LENS TO TEACH IOWA CORE STANDARDS IN THEIR CLASSROOM. IALF OFFERS ONLINE GRADUATE LEVEL COURSES AND PRESENTATIONS AT TEACHER CONFERENCES LIKE THE SOCIAL STUDIES CONFERENCE, SCIENCE CONFERENCE, TALENTED AND GIFTED CONFERENCE, AND READING CONFERENCE. IALF RESOURCES HAVE A PRESENCE AT COUNTY FAIRS, THE STATE FAIR AND STEM FESTIVALS HELD THROUGHOUT IOWA TO ENGAGE STUDENTS WITH EXPERIENTIAL AGRICULTURE LITERACY PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES. IALF PRODUCES CLASSROOM PROGRAMS AND PRESENTATIONS ON DEMAND LIKE THE 'JOURNEY 2050' PROGRAM THAT TEACHES SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN A FUN ONLINE GAMING PLATFORM. AGRICULTURE IN CLASSROOM PROGRAMS HAVE IMPACTED MORE THAN 304,000 STUDENTS ACROSS IOWA. MORE THAN 3,100 TEACHERS HAVE BEEN TRAINED TO INCORPORATE AGRICULTURE INTO THEIR CLASSROOM CURRICULUM. THERE ARE MORE THAN 200 LESSON PLANS FOR GRADES PK-12 ON THE IALF WEBSITE CONNECTING AGRICULTURE TO A VARIETY OF CORE SUBJECTS SUCH AS SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, AND MATH. IALF PRODUCES A SERIES OF RESOURCES SUCH AS A STUDENT READER MAGAZINE TITLED IOWA AG TODAY WHICH IS PRODUCED TO HIGHLIGHT 4TH AND 7TH GRADE READING LEVELS AND IS DISTRIBUTED TO 3,000 CLASSROOMS ACROSS IOWA. SPANISH VERSIONS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FOR THE IOWA AG TODAY PUBLICATION. THE MY FAMILY'S FARM BOOK SERIES IS PUBLISHED TO SHOWCASE A 3RD GRADE READING LEVEL AND TELL THE STORY OF MODERN CONTEMPORARY FARMS. THE FARMCHAT PROGRAM ENGAGES STUDENTS IN VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS TO FARMS AND AGRIBUSINESSES.
