THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF OREGON TRADESWOMEN, INC. IS TO WORK TOWARDS ELIMINATION OF BARRIERS FACING WOMEN WORKING IN OR SEEKING TO ENTER THE SKILLED TRADES VIA ADVOCACY, MENTORSHIP, VISIBILITY, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SUPPORT SERVICES.

PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS: OTI'S TRADES AND APPRENTICESHIP CAREER CLASS IS A 7-WEEK STATE CERTIFIED PRE-APPRENTICESHIP CLASS FOR WOMEN. CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION AND FIELD WORK HELP PREPARE WOMEN FOR A HIGH SKILL, HIG WAGES CAREER IN THE TRADES.THE LARGEST NON-TRADITIONAL EVENT OF ITS KIND, OREGON TRADESWOMEN PRODUCES OUR ANNUAL CAREER FAIR TO HELP FILL THE IMMINENT GAP IN THE LABOR FORCE THAT WILL BE CREATED WITH RECORD-LEVELS OF UPCOMING RETIREMENTS OF SKILLED TRADES PEOPLE, AND TO INCREASE THE OVERALL NUMBER OF WOMEN WORKING IN TRADES CAREERS.


ADVOCACY: OTI GIVES TRADESWOMEN THE SKILLS AND OPPORTUNITY TO ADVOCATE FOR EQUITY IN THE TRADES. THROUGH ITS CORE PROGRAMS, OREGON TRADESWOMEN WORKS TO:-RECRUIT, TRAIN, PLACE AND RETAIN WOMEN IN THE ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, HIGHWAY AND UTILITY TRADES-ENCOURAGE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL AGED GIRLS TO LEARN ABOUT TRADES CAREERS OPTIONS THROUGH HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES-ADDRESS BROADER ISSUES OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, ACCESS TO APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT


RISE UP (RESPECT, INCLUSION, SAFETY AND EQUITY IN THE CONSTRUCTION TRADES) IS A RESPECTFUL WORKPLACE PROGRAM DESIGNED PROVIDE ALL WORKERS WITH THE TOOLS AND SUPPORT NECESSARY TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN A SAFE, INCLUSIVE, AND PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR EVERYONE. RISE UP PROVIDES INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICE WORKPLACE CONSULTING AND TRAINING TO HELP CONTRACTORS AND SUB-CONTRACTORS CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT OF PRODUCTIVITY, SAFETY, AND EQUITY IN CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND ON WORK SITES.
