THE PURPOSE OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PEDIATRIC NEUROSURGEONS SHALL BE TO IMPROVE THE NEUROSURGICAL CARE OF THE CHILDREN OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA BY ADVANCING AND ADVOCATING THE SPECIALTY OF PEDIATRIC NEUROSURGERY. THE SOCIETY IS COMMITTED TO DISCOVERING, DEFINING AND DELIVERING THE BEST CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH PEDIATRIC NEUROSURGICAL DISEASE REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE. THE SOCIETY IS FURTHER COMMITTED TO DISSEMINATION OF THIS INFORMATION TO ALL PROVIDERS WHO CARE FOR THESE PATIENTS AND TO BEING THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF THIS INFORMATION FOR PHYSICIANS IN TRAINING.

DIRECT EXPENSES OF THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, WHICH INCLUDED PRESENTATIONS ON NUMEROUS SCIENTIFIC MATTERS OVER A 5 DAY PERIOD AND WAS ATTENDED BY 119 MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. THE EXPENSES INCLUDE THE PUBLICATION OF ABSTRACTS OF THE PRESENTATIONS.
DURING 2022, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AUTHORIZED THE FUNDING OF 3 RESEARCH GRANTS. THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO (DR. HEATHER SPADER) WAS AWARDED A $20,000 GRANT. THE TITLE OF THE PROJECT IS "NORMATIVE HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE VALUES FOR NEW MEXICO NATIVE AMERICAN CHILDREN". THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA (DR. ARIA FALLAH) WAS AWARDED A $20,000 GRANT. THE TITLE OF THE PROJECT IS "EXPLOITING BRAIN TISSUE BIOMECHANICAL PROPERTIES TO DEFINE EPILEPTOGENIC LESIONS IN PEDIATRIC EPILEPSY SURGERY". VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER (DR. CHRISTOPHER M.
