PEASLEE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER IS A PEACEFUL PLACE IN OVER-THE-RHINE WHERE RESIDENTS CREATE AND ENGAGE IN PARTICIPATORY EDUCATION TO FOSTER CREATIVE EXPRESSION, SELF-DETERMINATION, AND SOCIAL CHANGE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

YOUTH EDUCATION AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS - PEASLEE DELIVERED A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS FOR APPROXIMATELY 440 STUDENTS, AGES 6 - 22, DURING BOTH THE SCHOOL YEAR AND SUMMER. OUR SCHOOL YEAR EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDED AGENTS OF CHANGE, PIANO AND SOCIAL JUSTICE EDUCATION, SERVING APPROXIMATELY 420 STUDENTS. OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS SERVED AN ADDITIONAL 20 STUDENTS. OUR TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND FAMILIES WERE HAPPY TO RETURN TO IN-PERSON PROGRAMS THIS YEAR, ENGAGING IN CREATIVE EXPRESSION, CRITICAL THINKING AND DIALOGUE, FIELDTRIPS, GARDENING, MUSIC INSTRUCTION, WRITING, SWIMMING AND READING.


EDUCATION BASED ORGANIZING - OUR EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT RUBRIC SPURRED INCREASED ATTENTION AND ACTION CITY-WIDE. OUR SUPPORT FOR EQUITY AT THE GROUND LEVEL CONTINUED THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH RESIDENTS IN COMMUNITY COUNCILS CITY-WIDE. WE PUBLISHED OUR RUBRIC GUIDEBOOK FOR COMMUNITY COUNCILS FOLLOWED BY AN EDUCATIONAL TRAINING SERIES THAT ENGAGED REPRESENTATIVES FROM TEN COMMUNITY COUNCILS.


TENANT PARTNERSHIPS AND SOLIDARITY - FOR 37 YEARS, PEASLEE HAS MAINTAINED AND GROWN A COLLECTIVE, ACCESSIBLE SPACE FOR PEOPLE TO GATHER AND WORK FOR SOCIAL CHANGE ACROSS OUR NEIGHBORHOODS, CITY, REGION, AND NATION. IN ADDITION TO PEASLEE'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS, FOUR OTHER NON-PROFIT PARTNERS HOUSED IN THE PEASLEE BUILDING ENGAGE IN WORK FOCUSED ON EDUCATION, ADVOCACY AND ORGANIZING TO BUILD A MORE JUST WORLD. TOGETHER WE WORK IN SOLIDARITY TO EXTEND OUR IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY.
