MEAL PROGRAM - ALPHA COMMUNITY CENTER CONTINUES TO SERVE MEALS M-F IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HOLY ANGELS SOUP KITCHEN. WE SERVE BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY BEFORE CHURCH AND A MEAL ON TUESDAY EVENING AFTER CHAPEL SERVICE. AROUND 11,000 MEALS WERE SERVED IN 2021. OUR EMERGENCY PANTRY SERVED 65 FAMILIES WITH DIAPERS, WIPES, NON-PERISHABLE FOOD, HATS, GLOVES,CLOTHING, SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND HOLIDAY ITEMS.
RENT /UTILITY ASSISTANCE - THE ALPHA COMMUNITY CENTER RECEIVES DOLLARS FROM THE SHELBY COUNTY UNITED WAY TO ASSIST OUR CLIENTS WITH PAYMENT OF RENT, MORTGAGE AND UTILITIES. IN 2021, WE RECEIVED 18,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL UW. WITH THE UW FUNDING, WE PAID RENT FOR 43 CLIENTS, AND UTILITIES FOR 41 CLIENTS.
