LIFELINE OF OHIO ORGAN PROCUREMENT, INC. (LIFELINE) IS AN INDEPENDENT, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE AND COORDINATE THE DONATION OF HUMAN ORGANS AND TISSUE FOR TRANSPLANTATION. LIFELINE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES AS THE DESIGNATED ORGAN PROCUREMENT ORGANIZATION SERVING 38 OHIO COUNTIES ALONG WITH WOOD AND HANCOCK COUNTIES IN WEST VIRGINIA. ACCREDITED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF TISSUE BANKS AND THE EYE BANK ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (EBAA), LIFELINE PARTNERS WITH 91 HOSPITALS AND THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE THROUGH ITS TRANSPLANT COORDINATORS, SURGICAL TECHNICIANS AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL STAFF. IN 2021, LIFELINE PROCURED APPROXIMATELY 467 LIFE SAVING DONATED ORGANS FROM APPROXIMATELY 177 DONORS. ALSO, IN 2021, WE RECOVERED OVER 1,500 TISSUES USED TO HEAL AND ENHANCE LIVES.
