ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION PROVIDED $105,057 TOWARD ATRIUM'S MATERNAL HEALTH CLINIC, WHICH PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE REGARDLESS OF OUR PATIENTS' FINANCIAL STATUS THROUGH HEALTH PREVENTION, ROUTINE EXAMINATIONS, DETECTION, SCREENING, AND THE TREATMENT OF ILLNESS. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED THE CLINIC'S CENTERING PREGNANCY PROGRAM, WHICH OFFERS INDIGENT MOTHERS WITH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, COLLABORATION, AND ACTION. CENTERING PROVIDES GUIDANCE TO HELP NEW MOMS AND PROVIDERS ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING FROM NUTRITION, COMMON DISCOMFORTS, STRESS MANAGEMENT, LABOR AND DELIVERY, BREASTFEEDING, AND INFANT CARE ARE COVERED. NUMEROUS PUBLISHED STUDIES HAVE FOUND CENTERING MOMS HAVE HEALTHIER BABIES AND THAT CENTERING NEARLY ELIMINATES RACIAL DISPARITIES IN PRETERM BIRTH.
OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO THE HELP ENDURE A LOSS (H.E.A.L.) PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,315. PROGRAM FUNDING HELPED MAKE AVAILABLE CARING APPROPRIATE, COST-EFFECTIVE, AND ACCESSIBLE SERVICES TO FAMILIES IN CRISIS DUE TO AN UNANTICIPATED OUTCOME CONCERNING THEIR BABY/CHILD. ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO THIS PROGRAM BECAUSE WE RECOGNIZE THE LOSS OF A PREGNANCY, DEATH OF AN INFANT/CHILD IS AN EMOTIONAL LIFE-ALTERING EXPERIENCE FOR FAMILIES WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
