APPROXIMATELY 144,284 LBS OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO 40 FOOD PANTRIES AND MEAL PROGRAMS WITHIN HAMILTON COUNTY, INDIANA. OF THIS AMOUNT, APPROXIMATELY 80,472 LBS OF FOOD WERE DONATED AND THE REST WAS PURCHASED. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 4,142 VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE CONTRIBUTED IN THESE EFFORTS.
WE WORK WITH MANY MEALS FOR KIDS PROGRAMS ACROSS HAMILTON COUNTY, INDIANA, BY SUPPLYING THEM WITH FOOD, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, FOOD DRIVES, AND HELPING THEM ORGANIZE THEIR PROGRAMS. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE SCHOOL WEEKEND MEAL PACKS AND SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAMS.
MEATING THE NEED IS A PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM WITH THE HAMILTON COUNTY 4-H BEEF, DAIRY, AND SWINE PROJECTS. WE FUNDRAISE TO PURCHASE THE 4-H MEMBERS' ANIMALS AND ARRANGE FOR PROCESSING. THE FROZEN HAMBURGER AND SAUSAGE MEAT IS USED BY THE FOOD PANTRIES AND MEAL PROGRAMS FOR THEIR CLIENTS.
