THE PURPOSE OF MOSILC IS TO:1. DEVELOP A STATE PLAN FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING (SPIL) THROUGH EXTERNAL INPUT, IN COOPERATION WITH VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION WHICH ENSURES INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR MISSOURIANS.2.ADVOCATE FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE STATE PLAN IL OBJECTIVES.3.MONITOR, REVIEW, AND EVALUATE THE IMPLEMENTATIONS OF THE SPIL.4.BE A STATEWIDE CATALYST FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING; SUPPORTING THE CILS AND ADVOCATING FOR DISABILITY RIGHTS AND RELATED ISSUES. GATHER AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION, CONDUCT STUDIES AND ANALYSES, DEVELOP MODEL POLICIES, CONDUCT TRAINING ON INDEPENDENT LIVING ISSUES, PROVIDE OUTREACH TO UNSERVED AND UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, AND WORK TO EXPAND AND IMPROVE INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES IN MISSOURI.
