THE FORNEY ISD EDUCATION LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION'S PURPOSE IS TO ENABLE AND EMPOWER TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGHOUT FORNEY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT (FISD). THE TOOLS USED TO FULFILL THIS PURPOSE INCLUDE THE DUAL CREDIT ADVANTAGE PLUS PROGRAM AND INNOVATIVE TEACHING GRANTS.ORIGINALLY THE ORGANIZATION SET OUT TO AWARD A $500 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP TO EACH QUALIFYING FISD GRADUATE. THIS PROGRAM WAS IN PLACE FROM 2004-2017 AND WILL FINISH PAYING OUT THE LAST SCHOLARSHIPS IN 2022. IN ORDER TO AFFECT THE LIVES OF MORE STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT, IN 2008, THE FOUNDATION LAUNCHED THE EDUCATIONAL GRANT PROGRAM FOR FISD TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF TO RECOGNIZE AND SUPPORT INNOVATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES THAT POSITIVELY IMPACT THE STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. IN 2017, THE FOUNDATION PARTNERED WITH FORNEY ISD AND DALLAS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT (DCCCD) TO ASSISTS STUDENTS IN PAYING THE FEES FOR ENROLLING IN A DUAL-CREDIT (HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE CREDIT) INITIATIV

THE ORGANIZATION FUNDED EACH STUDENT THEIR SHARE OF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS THAT HAD GRADUATED FROM FORNEY HIGH SCHOOLS, MET THE REQUIREMENTS, AND REQUESTED THE SCHOLARSHIP.IN ADDITION, MONIES WERE AWARDED TO CERTAIN TEACHERS WHO REQUESTED FUNDS FOR INNOVATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES WHICH POSITIVELY IMPACTED THE STUDENTS AND FISD.LASTLY, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR STUDENTS' CTE/AP AND TSI TEST FEES.
