THE AUTISM CLINIC PROVIDES INTENSIVE APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA) THERAPY SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND THEIR FAMILIES. ABA THERAPY IS OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS AGED 18 MONTHS THROUGH 21 YEARS, AND IN SOME CASES BEYOND 21 YEARS IF SERVICES ARE APPROPRIATE AND COVERED BY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE AND/OR MEDICAID. THE AUTISM CLINIC ALSO OFFERS AUTISM RE- EVALUATIONS AND COUNSELING SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND THEIR FAMILIES.
ABC OF NC CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER'S SCHOOL PROVIDES A VARIETY OF CENTER- BASED, BEST-PRACTICE EDUCATIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL SERVICES FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS. THE CENTER CURRENTLY SERVES APPROXIMATELY 80 CHILDREN ON A FULL-TIME OR LIMITED BASIS. SOME DIRECT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO CHILDREN IN THEIR HOMES AND OTHER SETTINGS ALONG WITH CONSULTATIVE SERVICES TO PARENTS AND OTHER CARE GIVERS. IN ADDITION, ABC OF NC PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL TRAINING TO A VARIETY OF SERVICE PROVIDERS AND EDUCATORS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS.
