FOCUS OWNS AND MAINTAINS A BUILDING LOCATED AT 114 TEMPLE STREET, SOMERVILLE, MA WHICH PROVIDES HOUSING TO YOUNG WHO HAVE AGED OUT OF FOSTER CARE. THE BUILDING HAS 15 BEDROOMS AND A SHARED KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, LIVING ROOM AND PROGRAM SPACE. THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY FUNCTIONS ALSO INCLUDE MANY DIFFERENT ASPECTS INCLUDING:1) CONDUCTING ACTIVITIES THAT FACILITATE AND PROMOTE AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH JOINT VENTURES AND/OR CONTRACTS WITH FOR-PROFIT AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT DEVELOPERS.2) SUPPORTING THE RESIDENTS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES.3) PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO YOUNG ADULTS THROUGH HOSTELING, SO THAT THEY MAY GAIN A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD AND ITS PEOPLE.4) FUNDING TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELD OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
