THE ALLIANCE HAS BUILT AN INTERPRETIVE CENTER AT JOHNSON BRANCH PARK ON LAKE RAY ROBERTS, THE HEAD OF THE GREENBELT TRAIL, FROM GRANT FUNDS RECEIVED FROM A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL. IN ADDITION, THE ALLIANCE RECEIVED A GRANT FROM TPWD AND MADE RECREATIONAL TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS AND PURCHASED EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS FOR FUTURE TRAIL MAINTENANCE. THE GREENBELT TRAIL HAS REMAINED CLOSED FOR MUCH OF THE YEAR DUE TO EXTREME FLOODING IN OUR AREA IN THE PAST 3 YEARS. WE ARE WORKING WITH TPWD TO REOPEN THE TRAIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
