NANOG HELD 3 MAJOR CONFERENCES: NANOG87 IN ATLANTA WITH TOTAL ATTENDEES OF 874. THIS WAS 710 IN PERSON AND 164 VIRTUAL. NANOG88 IN SEATTLE, WA WITH 966 ATTENDEES CONSISTING OF 872 IN PERSON AND 94 VIRTUAL. NANOG89 IN SAN DIEGO, CA WITH 840 ATTENDEES CONSISTING OF 738 IN PERSON AND 102 VIRTUAL. THESE CONFERENCES ARE NETWORKING CONFERENCES THAT PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO FURTHER ENHANCE NETWORKING DISCUSSIONS AND PROVES FOR A RICH SET OF PRESENTATIONS EXPLORING CURRENT AND RELEVANT TOPICS. HACKATHONS ARE ALSO A PART OF THESE MEETINGS WHICH ARE A ONE DAY EVENT BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER IN A ROOM TO DEVELOP NEW IDEAS AND HACKS RELATED TO INTERNET NETWORKING. WITH BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS, OUTREACH FOCUSED ON EDUCATION. A DNS COURSE WAS OFFERED AT THE EVENTS AND AN ONLINE COURSE WAS DEVELOPED IN DESIGNING AND DEPLOYING COMPUTER NETWORKS (DDCN). TEN STUDENTS TOOK PART IN THE NANOG COLLEGE IMMERSION PROGRAM (NCI). THIS PROGRAM SEEKS TO PROVIDE AN ENTRYWAY FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS TO LEARN THE WORLD OF NETWORK OPERATIONS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES TUTORIALS, CLASSES, KEYNOTES, GENERAL SESSION CONTENT AND TRACKS.
NANOG HELPS SUPPORT NETWORKING AND ENGINEERING EDUCATION THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS. NANOG PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN A VARIETY OF AREAS INCLUDING NETWORK ENGINEERING, COMPUTER ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, TELECOMMUNICATIONS, AND COMPUTER SCIENCE.
