THE ORGANIZATION USES THE PURSUIT OF MUSICAL EXCELLENCE AND ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE TO BRING ABOUT POSITIVE CHANGE IN THE LIVES OF SOUTH BRONX CHILDREN. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES INTENSIVE MUSICAL ENGAGEMENT THROUGHOUT THE PARTICIPANTS' CHILDHOOD, ADOLESCENT AND YOUNG ADULT YEARS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE PROGRAM OPERATED YEAR-ROUND, 5 DAYS/WEEK DURING AFTER-SCHOOL HOURS AND 4 WEEKS OVER THE SUMMER. THROUGH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING, 100 PARTICIPANTS WERE ENGAGED MULTIPLE TIMES PER WEEK ATTENDING PRIVATE LESSONS, GROUP CLASSES, SMALL ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS AND LATE ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS LED BY QUALIFIED STAFF. ALL PARTICIPANTS PERFORMED IN PUBLIC EVENTS. ALL ACTIVITIES AND INSTRUMENTS WERE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. DUE TO PUBLIC SAFETY CHALLENGES CAUSED BY THE PANDEMIC, ALL PROGRAMMING NORMALLY PROVIDED IN-PERSON WAS OFFERED VIRTUALLY FOR A PORTION OF THE YEAR. FULL IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING HAS RESUMED WITHOUT INTERRUPTION SINCE APRIL 2023.
