IN THE YEAR AFTER AN UNPRECEDENTED CANCELLATION OF THE 2020 NEWPORT FOLK FESTIVAL DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, NEWPORT FESTIVALS FOUNDATION PRESENTED FOLK ON, TWO THREE-DAY EVENTS AT FORT ADAMS STATE PARK ON JULY 23-25 AND JULY 26-28, 2021. THE EVENTS HAD A 50% REDUCTION IN CAPACITY AND TOOK PLACE OVER TWO OUTDOOR STAGES.

IN 2021, NEWPORT FESTIVALS FOUNDATION CONTINUED THE NEWPORT FESTIVALS MUSICIAN RELIEF FUND TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RELIEF TO MUSICIANS IN THEIR FOLK AND JAZZ COMMUNITIES WHO EXPERIENCED LOSS OF INCOME AS A RESULT OF COVID-19. SOME OF THE MUSICIANS WORKED WITH NEWPORT FESTIVALS FOUNDATION TO CREATE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT, WHICH WAS SHARED FREE OF CHARGE TO MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
