THE SANTA BARBARA POLICE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE SANTA BARBARA POLICE DEPARTMENT BY RAISING COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND BY PROVIDING MECHANISMS TO PROCURE FUNDING FOR THREE PRIMARY PURPOSES: (1) FUNDING TO ASSIST A FALLEN OFFICER LOST IN THE LINE OF DUTY OR TO A CATASTROPHIC ILLNESS (2) FUNDING TO ASSIST AN OFFICER'S IMMEDIATE FAMILY OR A POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE WHO SUFFERS A CATASTROPHIC ILLNESS (3) FUNDING FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT BEYOND THE DEPARTMENT'S BUDGETARY ABILITIES. IN ADDITION, THE SANTA BARBARA POLICE FOUNDATION ALSO ADMINISTERS ITS AT-EASE PROGRAM TO PROVIDE CONFIDENTIAL COUNSELING SERVICES TO ALL FIRST RESPONDERS IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY AND BEYOND.
