SANTA CRUZ BREAKERS ACADEMY (BREAKERS FC) PARTICIPATED IN THE US SOCCER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND NORCAL PREMIER LEAGUE. THE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY TRANSITIONED INTO MLS NEXT DURING THE PANDEMIC WHEN THE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY CLOSED, PROVIDING THE SAME HIGH LEVEL OF SOCCER FOR U13-U19 BOYS. NEARLY 200 PLAYERS PLAYING U8-U19 PARTICIPATED IN THIS YEAR'S PROGRAMS AS WE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE YOUNGER PLAYERS. WE HAVE QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL COACHES ON OUR COACHING STAFF AS WELL AS ADMINISTRATORS AND VOLUNTEERS TO HELP THE ORGANIZATION. THE ACADEMY TEAMS TRAVELED IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DURING 2020, SINCE NO TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE STATE WAS ALLOWED. OUR PLAYERS ARE SCOUTED BY USSF SCOUTS AND COLLEGE COACHES WHO RECRUIT THEM TO PLAY AT THE NEXT LEVEL. THE MAJORITY OF OUR PLAYERS MOVE ON TO PLAY IN COLLEGE, MANY WITH SOCCER SCHOLARSHIPS. COLLEGE COUNSELING IS PROVIDED TO OUR PLAYERS DURING THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH THE BREAKERS ACADEMY.
