THE KAY TRUST IS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR AT LEAST 600 CAMPER DAYS PER YEAR FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY ON A PERPETUAL BASIS AS LONG AS TRUST FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

SENIORS COUNCIL SERVES AS THE SANTA CRUZ AND SAN BENITO COUNTIES AREA AGENCY ON AGING AS SUCH. IT RECEIVES AND ADMINISTERS FEDERAL AND STATE GRANTS FOR SENIOR PROGRAMS FUNDS. FROM THESE GRANTS, AWARDS ARE PASSED THROUGH TO SUB-RECIPIENT ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO OPERATES THE FOSTER GRANDPARENT/SENIOR COMPANION AND PROJECT SCOUT PROGRAMS WHICH PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES.

CERTIFYING AND PROVIDING CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR PUBLIC PURCHASE OFFICERS.
