GENERATION CITIZEN (GC) ENABLES INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ECONOMIC STABIITY, TO DEVELOP RESILIENCE IN BOTH PARENT AND CHILDREN, AND TO ALLOW FAMILIES TO BECOME A CONTIBUTING PART OF THE COMMUNITY.

DESPITE THE IMPACT OF COVID-19, GENERATION CITIZEN WAS ABLE TO DELIVER TRAINING TO 19,800 STUDENTS, ENGAGING 269 TEACHERS ACROSS SIX SITES AND REMOTE PARTNERSHIPS IN THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. WE ALSO WE COMPLETED THE TRANSITION OF OUR CURRICULUM AND TRAININGS TO A DIGITAL AND VIRTUAL FORMAT DUE TO THE RESTRICTIONS OF THE PANDEMIC. WE LAUNCHED 50 BY 2026, A CAMPAIGN TO ELEVATE CIVICS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS IN ALL 50 STATES BY THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. IN RHODE ISLAND, WE LED A COALITION OF ORGANIZATIONS, TEACHERS, AND YOUTH IN A SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN THAT LED TO THE CREATION OF NEW STATEWIDE CIVICS REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION INCLUDING PROJECT BASED LEARNING FOR APPROXIMATELY 50,000 STUDENTS PER YEAR.
