BURKITT'S LYMPHOMA FUND FOR AFRICA PROVIDES GRANTS TO NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS (NGOS) OPERATING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE TREATMENT AND CURE OF BURKITT'S LYMPHOMA AND CERTAIN OTHER PEDIATRIC CANCERS IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA. THE ORGANIZATION CURRENTLY WORKS WITH NGOS IN KENYA, TANZANIA, UGANDA AND MALAWI TO SUPPORT THIS MISSION.IN 2017, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED FUNDING OF A GRANT TO THE HUTCH-UGANDA CANCER INSTITUTE TO SUPPORT STAGING PROCEDURES FOR PEDIATRIC BURKITT'S LYMPHOMA PATIENTS. THREE NEW GRANTS IN MALAWI, TANZANIA AND UGANDA WERE COMMITTED FOR DISBURSEMENT IN 2018 AND 2019. AN INITIATIVE UTILIZING FLOW CYTOMETRY TO DIAGNOSE PEDIATRIC CANCERS NEARED OPERATIONAL STATUS.
