TO ADVANCE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF EPILEPSY AND THE RISK OF SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DEATH IN EPILEPSY (SUDEP), TO PROTECT PEOPLE WITH EPILEPSY, AND TO PREVENT DEATHS CAUSED BY SEIZURES.

THE FOUNDATION ADVANCES PUBLIC AWARENESS OF EPILEPSY AND SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DEATH IN EPILEPSY (SUDEP), STRIVES TO IMPROVE SUDEP DISCLOSURE BETWEEN MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY SEIZURES, AND ADVOCATES FOR THE MAINSTREAM ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF SEIZURE DETECTION AND PREDICTION DEVICES THAT MAY ASSIST IN PREVENTING SEIZURE-RELATED DEATHS. DANNY DID SUBSIDIZED 343 SEIZURE DETECTION DEVICES FOR FAMILIES IN FINANCIAL NEED AND HUNDREDS MORE WERE COUNSELED ON DEVICES AND WAYS TO PROTECT THEIR LOVED ONES LIVING WITH EPILEPSY. THIRTY-NINE FAMILIES WERE PROVIDED TRAVEL ASSISTANCE GRANTS SO THEY COULD ATTEND EPILEPSY EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES. SUDEP AWARENESS WAS SHARED ON BILLBOARDS ALONG HIGHWAYS AND IN AIRPORTS, ON CABLE TELEVISION, AND ON SEVERAL RADIO STATIONS.
