CNC-STAR (CNC MACHINIST STAR PROGRAM) SKILLS THROUGH APPRENTICESHIP & RETRAINING THE STAR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RETAIN THOSE DISLOCATED AND UNEMPLOYED AND MENTORED FOR AVAILABLE MANUFACTURING CAREERS. THE PROGRAM IS BASED IN PART, ON USDOL REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS, GENERALLY USED FOR CAREERS IN THE TRADES SUCH AS PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL. THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY USED NATIONALLY AND HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS A MODEL THAT CAN BE USED AS A MODEL FOR CREATING OTHER APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. IT IS RUN AS AN ACADEMIC PROGRAM AWARDING COLLEGE CREDITS THROUGH VARIOUS COLLEGE PARTNERSHIPS.
