FILED LITIGATION REGARDING APPROPRIATE USES OF CALIFORNIA'S WATER, INCLUDING WATER BUYERS SOUTH OF THE DELTA SEEKING SIGNIFICANT WATER FROM SACRAMENTO VALLEY SO ARID AREAS MAY GROW PERENNIAL CROPS. THE 2015 LAWSUIT REGARDING TEMPERATURE VIOLATIONS IN THE SACRAMENTO RIVER THAT KILLED OVER 95% OF THE ENDANGERED SACRAMENTO RIVER WINTER-RUN SALMON WAS SETTLED. CHALLENGED ADEQUACY OF THE DELTA STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL'S ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT AND PLAN, SPECIFICALLY GROUNDWATER AND ITS CONNECTION TO THE VITALITY OF COMMUNITIES, FARMS, RIVERS, STREAMS, AND SPECIES. GROUNDWATER SUBBASINS IN THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY WERE REQUIRED TO FORMULATE PLANS FOR SUSTAINABLE USE. AQUALLIANCE ALSO EXPOSED THE PRESENCE OF SINKHOLES IN GLENN COUNTY THAT LOCAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES HID FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC SINCE AUGUST 2021.
