FUTURE WEST IS A NON-PROFIT CONSULTING GROUP THAT HELPS COMMUNITIES IDENTIFY AND CREATE THE FUTURE THAT THEY DESIRE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN DEDICATED TO FOSTERING A CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE AROUND NATURAL RESOURCE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT ISSUES, FUTURE WEST PROVIDES THE INFORMATION AND EXPERTISE, AS WELL AS FACILITATING THE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ESSENTIAL FOR WISE DECISION MAKING.

FUTURE WEST IS AN NGO COMMITTED TO PROTECTING THE SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL COMMUNITIES OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. OURS IS A ?TOWN AND COUNTRY? APPROACH. WE WORK TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITIES LIVABLE AND COMPACT WHILE SUSTAINING THE WORKING LANDS THAT SURROUND THEM. FUTURE WEST ANNUALLY HOSTS TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP THEM BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE IN THEIR CONSERVATION EFFORTS. FUTURE WEST HOSTED THE INAUGURAL GREATER YELLOWSTONE ECOSYSTEM CHAMPION SUMMIT, WHICH ESTABLISHS A PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK OF NGO?S, AD HOC GROUPS, AND INDIVIDUALS AND OTHERS TO CHAMPION THE CONSERVATION OF UNDEVELOPED PRIVATE LANDS AND DEVELOP A PLATFORM TO STRATEGIZE AND WORK TOGETHER IN PROTECTING THE ECOSYSTEM ACROSS STATE AND COUNTY LINES. FUTURE WEST HOSTS THE MOUNTAIN AND RESORT TOWN PLANNERS SUMMIT, WHICH IS A SMALL AND INTERACTIVE CONFERENCE, WHERE IDEAS, QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES FLOW FREELY AMONG PARTICIPANTS, FACILITATORS, AND THE HOST COMMUNITIES. THE SUMMIT IS MULTI-DISCIPLINARY, WITH PROGRAMMING DESIGNED FOR PLANNERS, DESIGNERS, CONSERVATIONISTS, ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED IN PRESERVING THE UNIQUENESS OF THEIR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY.
