FUTURE WEST IS A NON-PROFIT CONSULTING GROUP THAT HELPS COMMUNITIES IDENTIFY AND CREATE THE FUTURE THAT THEY DESIRE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN DEDICATED TO FOSTERING A CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE AROUND NATURAL RESOURCE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT ISSUES, FUTURE WEST PROVIDES THE INFORMATION AND EXPERTISE, AS WELL AS FACILITATING THE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ESSENTIAL FOR WISE DECISION MAKING.

FUTURE WEST CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP - FUTURE WEST ANNUALLY HOSTS TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP THEM BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE IN THEIR CONSERVATION EFFORTS. THIS YEAR A WORKSHOP WAS CONVENED AT FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS TITLED "HOW TO BE A COMMUNITY CATALYSTX AND WAS ATTENDED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF DOZENS OF NGOS.


INVOLVEMENT IN MONTANANS FOR SAFE WILDLIFE PASSAGE WHICH IS A COALITION OF ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT REDUCE WILDLIFE-VEHICLE COLLISIONS AND ALLOW FOR THE UNOBSTRUCTED MOVEMENT OF WILDLIFE ACROSS THE MONTANA LANDSCAPE. FUTURE WEST STAFF SERVE ON THE MSWP STEERING COMMITTEE AND OTHER ASSOCIATED GROUPS.


FUTURE WEST FACILITATED A COMMUNITY PLANNING PROCESS FOR THE TOWN OF GARDINER MONTANA TITLED SUCCESSFUL GARDINER. THIS PROJECT ENTAILED: AN ANALYSIS OF ECONOMIC AND HOUSING CONDITIONS, 2. STRATEGIES FOR DEVELOPING WORKFORCE HOUSING STRATEGIES FOR THE COMMUNITY, AND 3. INFILL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES FOR COMMUNITY VITALITY.
