JUSTFAITH PROGRAMMING: SMALL GROUP PROGRAMS WHICH HELP PARTICIPANTS EXPLORE TODAY'S SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES THROUGH THE LENS OF THEIR FAITH AND FORMULATE A PERSONAL/GROUP RESPONSE. HELD 10 SESSIONS SERVING 94 PARTICIPANTS IN FY2021.
POVERTY SIMULATIONS: A SIMULATION DESIGNED TO HELP PARTICIPANTS BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MIGHT BE LIKE TO LIVE IN A TYPICAL LOW-INCOME FAMILY TRYING TO SURVIVE FROM MONTH-TO-MONTH. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ENCOURAGE PARTICIPANTS TO RE-THINK POVERTY. DUE TO COVID, NOW POVERTY SIMULATIONS WERE CONDUCTED IN FY2021.
BEYOND THE BOOK:A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HIGHLIGHT BOTH THE IMPORTANT WORKS OF SOCIAL JUSTICE LITERATURE AND THOSE WHO WORK TO LIVE THEM OUT. EACH CLASS IS 2 HOURS IN LENGTH, WITH THE 1ST HOUR BEING A DISCUSSION OF AN IMPORTANT LITERARY WORK IN AN AREA TOUCHING ON SOME ASPECT OF SOCIAL JUSTICE, AND THE 2ND HOUR BEING A PRESENTATION, AND QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION, BY A COMMUNITY MEMBER WHO IS ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THE FEATURED SOCIAL JUSTICE WORK. 3 CLASSES SERVING 27 PEOPLE IN FY 2021.
