TO RAISE AWARENESS OF PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME AND ASSIST FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME.

PEOPLE WITH SMILES CAMP IS HOSTED EVERY YEAR BY TEXAS PRADER-WILLI ASSOCIATION. THEY SERVICE 45 TO 55 CAMPERS ANNUALLY. IN 2021, THEY SERVICED 42 CAMPERS AND 72 VOLUNTEERS. IT'S PUPOSE IS TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME A PHYSICALLY SAFE AND FOOD SECURE ENVIROMENT WHILE HAVING AN EQUAL CAMP EXPERIENCE AS OTHERS WITHOUT THE DISABILITY. IT ALSO OFFERS A PLACE FOR ACCEPTANCE AND SENSE OF BELONGING THAT IS NOT OFTEN FELT IN SOCIETY.
THE ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT IS TEXAS PRADER-WILLIS ASSOCIATION'S LARGEST FUNDRAISER. IN 2021 THEY HOSTED 160 GOLFERS, AS WELL AS 25 VOLUNTEERS. THROUGH SPONSORSHIPS, RAFFLES, AUCTIONS, AND OTHER DONATIONS, THE ASSOCIATION IS ABLE TO PURCHASE PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME SPECFIC GROUP HOMES. THE TOURNAMENT ALSO HELPS TO PROMOTE PRADER-WILLI EDUCATION AND RAISE AWARENESS WHILE WORKING TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
MAPLE LANE IS A TEXAS PRADER-WILLIS GROUP HOME SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THOSE WITH THE SYNDROME. THIS CRISIS CARE FACILITY OFFERS A CONTROLLED ENVIROMENT DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE WELFARE OF THOSE AGING WITH THE PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME. THIS CARE FACILITY ALSO OFFERS FUN AND ENRICHING ACTIVITIES, THAT INDIVIDUALS WITH THE DISORDER WOULD NOT NORMALLY GET TO EXPERIENCE.
