Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
GENERAL PATIENT FUND-LIKE MOST ORGANIZATIONS AROUND THE WORLD, SILOE EXPERIENCED A MUCH DIFFERENT 2020 THAN WE EXPECTED. THE PANDEMIC DISRUPTED OUR SERVICES SIGNIFICANTLY, YET WE WERE ABLE TO ADJUST AND ADAPT. THOUGH WE WEREN'T ABLE TO HOST NEARLY AS MANY GROUPS AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS, WE STILL SERVED OUR COMMUNITY WITH MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES--SEEING SEVERAL THOUSAND PATIENTS.
FAMILY FUND--OUR GENERAL POVERTY-ALLEVIATION FUND HAS ALLOWED US TO MEET ACUTE NEEDS AS WE ENCOUNTER THEM IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE. THE FUND PROVIDED PRACTICAL AND TANGIBLE SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WHO WERE SUFFERING FINANCIALLY DURING THE COVID 19 CRISIS--INCLUDING GROCERY VOUCHERS AND FOOD BASKETS.
WELLNESS PROGRAMS--2020 SAW THE CONTINUED EXECUTION OF SEVERAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS THAT COMPLEMENT OUR FRONTLINE MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE. OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN CONTINUES TO THRIVE AND NOW PRODUCES ENOUGH VEGETABLES TO DONATE TO MANY PATIENTS MONTHLY. WE MOVED OUR NUTRITION CONSULTS ONLINE DURING THE PANDEMIC, STILL SEEING JUST AS MANY PATIENTS AS BEFORE.THE WELLNESS CENTER IS OWNED BY THE FUNDACION COMUNITARIA SILOE, A MEXICAN FOUNDATION.
