IN 2021, RU HOSTED RESIDENCIES FOR 36 ARTISTS, 5 CURATORS AND 6 GUEST CURATORS. RESIDENTS CAME FROM 21 COUNTRIES INCLUDING CUBA, SWITZERLAND, SPAIN, SLOVENIA, JAPAN, GERMANY, MEXICO, MONTENEGRO, BRAZIL, CROATIA, SLOVAKIA, ALBANIA, FRANCE, HUNGARY, NORWAY, ISRAEL, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, GEORGIA, AUSTRIA. 11 ARTISTS WERE US BASED: KENTUCKY (3) AND NEW YORK (8). THERE WERE 5 BLACK ARTISTS, AND ONE LATINX ARTIST.WE ORGANIZED 12 IN-PERSON EXHIBITIONS AT RU AND PARTNERING ORGANIZATIONS (MOST RECENTLY THE ACE HOTEL GALLERY) AND 5 IN-PERSON TALKS. 17 VIRTUAL PUBLIC PROGRAMS. 7 VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS, INCLUDING FREE YOGA CLASSES ONLINE TO ADDRESS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES FOR ARTISTS AND THEIR WELL-BEING. WE ALSO INVITED 74 CURATORS AND ART PROFESSIONALS WHO MET WITH RU ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE INDIVIDUALLY, PROVIDING THEM WITH CRITICAL FEEDBACK.
