THE MISSION OF KIDS COOK IS TO IMPROVE THE OVREALL HEALTH OF SCHOOL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY EDUCATION, BY INVOLVING THEM IN HANDS-ON LEARNING ABOUT CULTURALLY DIVERSE FOODS THAT ARE HEALTHY AND APPEALING WHILE TEACHING THE BENEFITS OF DAILY EXERCISE.

OMAINTAINED USDA GRANT FUNDING, PROVIDING EDUCATION IN 13 SCHOOLS TO OVER 4000 STUDENTS IN ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND RIO RANCHO PUBLIC SCHOOLS. OCONTINUED RELATIONSHIP WITH PRESBYTERIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDING COMMUNITY NUTRITION, COOKING AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY EDUCATION WITH FAMILY COOKING CLASSES AND 4-WEEK SERIES CAMPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. OEXPANDED RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE TO PROVIDE SUMMER PROGRAMMING IN ALL OF THE 16 COMMUNITY CENTERS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER. OCONTINUED RELATIONSHIP WITH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ZIA FAMILY FOCUS CENTER, VAN BUREN MIDDLE SCHOOL, CRISTINA KENT PRESCHOOL, EXPLORA AND RIO GRANDE EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATIVE TO OFFER OUT OF SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMMING. OPARTNERED WITH NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS NATIVE HEALTH INITIATIVE, NEW MEXICO FOSTER FAMILIES, DOWNTOWN GROWERS MARKET TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY CULINARY EDUCATION.
