SECOND STORK HELPS NEW FAMILIES IN NEED BY PROVIDING THE ESSENTIAL ITEMS NEEDED TO KEEP THEIR NEWBORN SAFE AND HEALTHY IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS. SECOND STORK IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS BEHIND THE SCENES OF HOSPITALS TO SERVE NEW PARENTS IN NEED AS THE LEAVE THE HOSPITAL WITH A NEWBORN. SECOND STORK PROVIDES ESSENTIAL BABY-CARE ITEMS LIKE DIAPERS, WET WIPES, NEWBORN CLOTHING, RECEIVING BLANKETS AND PORTABLE CRIBS (IN THE FORM OF A PLAYARD WITH A BASSINET ATTACHMENT) TO GIVE BABIES A SAFE AND HEALTHY START, RELYING ON HOSPITAL PROFESSIONALS TO USE THEIR EXPERT JUDGMENT AND EXPERIENCE TO EFFICIENTLY DISTRIBUTE THE ITEMS TO THE FAMILIES IN GREATEST NEED. FOUNDED IN 2009, SECOND STORK IS NON-RELIGOUS AND NON-PARTISAN IN ITS MISSION, WAS 100% VOLUNTEER-BASED AS OF 2021, IS GUIDED BY INDUSTRY EXPERTS IN NEWBORN HEALTHCARE, AND IS ALWAYS WORKING IN WAYS TO RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF THE PARENTS SERVED. EACH YEAR, THOUSANDS OF NEW PARENTS ACROSS MINNESOTA ARE STRETCHED TO BRING THEIR NEWBORN HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL WITH EVEN THE MOST BASIC SUPPLIES SUCH AS A SAFE PLACE TO SLEEP, DIAPERS, WET WIPES, CLOTHING, AND OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS. THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES ACROSS MN, SD, AND WI WERE HELPEDIN FY 2020-2021. IN FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021, SECOND STORK PARTNERED WITH NEARLY 100 HOSPITALS TO ASSIST PARENTS IN NEED BY PROVIDING ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO OVER 2,500 FAMILIES. WITH THE HELP OF DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS, SECOND STORK PROVIDED OVER 250,000 DIAPERS, OVER 400 PLAY YARDS, AND 900 CLOTHING/BLANKET PACKAGES TO THESE FAMILIES. SECOND STORK IS ALL-VOLUNTEER AND OPERATES WITH NO RELIGIOUS NOR POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS AND SPECIFICALLY WORKS TO RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF PEOPLE IN NEED.
