BY MAKING THE SYSTEMS WE RELY UPON EVERY DAY MORE DEPENDABLE, EFFICIENT AND RESILIENT, WE CAN ADDRESS THE THREAT OF CLIMATE CHANGE WHILE CREATING GOOD-PAYING JOBS. BGA WORKS TO ACHIEVE LEGISLATIVE GOALS THROUGH ADVOCACY AND GRASSROOTS EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGNS DESIGNED TO PASS COMPREHENSIVE CLEAN ENERGY LEGISLATION. BGA'S WORKER'S RIGHTS ADVOCACY INITIATIVES INCLUDE ISSUE ADVOCACY AND GRASSROOTS EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGNS. HEALTH INITIATIVES - BGA HEALTH INITIATIVES IS A NATIONAL GRASSROOTS EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE TO REDUCE WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY EXPOSURES TO TOXIC SUBSTANCES; AND TO PROMOTE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH AS A FUNDAMENTAL, ON-THE-JOB RIGHT FOR ALL WORKING PEOPLE. BGA'S GOAL IS TO STRENGTHEN EXISTING STANDARDS REGULATING TOXICS, ENACT NEW POLICIES AT THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL AND - THROUGH AN EMERGING AREA OF SCIENCE, INVEST IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAFE ALTERNATIVES THAT CAN REDUCE TOXICS, CREATE NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND, IN THE PROCESS, TRANSFORM MANY CURRENT JOBS INTO GREEN JOBS.
