FENIX IS A HIGH-QUALITY, COMPREHENSIVE FAMILY HEALTHCARE FACILITY THAT PROVIDES SERVICES PRIMARILY TO LOW-INCOME AND SPANISH-SPEAKING IMMIGRANT FAMILIES IN LAKE COUNTY, IL. SINCE THE CLINIC HAS OPENED, IT HAS SERVED GREATER THAN 10,000 INDIVIDUALS, MANY OF WHOM ARE UNINSURED. THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF FENIX IS TO PROVIDE RESPECTFUL CARE BY MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE PATIENTS WITH FLEXIBLE HOURS AND 24 HOUR EMERGENCY AVAILABILITY. FENIX STRIVES TO INTEGRATE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES INTO EACH PATIENT ENCOUNTER, AND HAS A SOCIAL WORKER ON STAFF TO COUNSEL PATIENTS AT A LOW COST. FENIX ALSO HAS A LAY NUTRITIONIST ON STAFF TO HELP PATIENTS LEARN TO CONTROL DIET-RELATED CHRONIC DISEASE. FENIX WORKS WITH PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF NOT JUST INDIVIDUALS, BUT THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE.
