THE ADULT EDUCATION AND LITERACY CALL CENTER PROVIDES INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES TO ADULTS SEEKING EDUCATIONAL CLASSES. IN 2021, 2,024 ADULTS WERE REFERRED INTO ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES, 5,008 RECIEVED RESOURCE INFORMATION, 1,819 ADULT LEARNERS PREVIOUSLY ENROLLED BEFORE COVID-19 PANADEMIC WERE CONTACTED TO ENCOURAGE RE-ENROLLMENT AND ORIENTATION SESSIONS HAD 67 ATTENDEES OVER 8 SESSIONS STARTING NOVEMBER 15TH. ADDITIONALLY, 1,326 BOOKS VALUED AT 35,365 AND 5 LAPTOP COMPUTERS WERE GIVEN AWAY TO SUPPORT ADULT EDUCATION IN TARRANT COUNTY.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LITERACY AND LEARNING PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITES AND SUPPORT. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH TRAINING/MENTORING, SMALL WORKSHOPS AND LARGE CONFERENCES. IN 2021, 647 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED THESE EVENTS.
