THE TEAM COOKS A MEAL EACH TUESDAY NIGHT FOR THE PRIMETIME KIDS AT THE GERALDINE CLAYTOR MAGNET ACADEMY. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP GATHER SUPPLIES FOR THE WEEK, PREPARE AND HELP COOK WHERE NEEDED. SET UP WILL START AT APPROXIMATELY 4:30 PM AND END AT 7:30 PM ON TUESDAY NIGHTS. TIME SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE AS LATE AS 6:00 PM 7:30 PM.
PRIMETIME: PRIMETIME IS A YOUTH-BASED PROGRAM FOCUSED ON KIDS RANGING FROM 2ND TO 8TH GRADE AT GERALDINE CLAYTOR MAGNET ACADEMY, UP THE STREET FROM THE PT BARNUM APARTMENTS IN BRIDGEPORT. MENTORSHIP IS STRONGLY, STRONGLY NEEDED.
XLR8: MANY STUDENTS ARE NOT GIVEN THE PROPER ATTENTION TO CULTIVATE THEIR LEARNING EXPERIENCE IN SCHOOL. WE BELIEVE EDUCATION IS A LADDER AND IF A STUDENT MISSES A STEP WITHOUT PROPER GUIDANCE, THEY CANNOT MOVE ON. WITH XLR8, WE TRY TO BRIDGE THAT GAP FOR THESE STUDENTS AND STRIVE TO SET THEM UP FOR SUCCESS IN SCHOOL WITH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT. FROM LEARNING KEYBOARD SKILLS TO DOING WORKSHEETS XLR8 WORKS TO EQUIP STUDENTS WITH THE TOOLS TO SHINE IN THE CLASSROOM.
