TO PROMOTE SOCIAL IMPACT BY BUILDING BRIDGES BETWEEN CITIZENS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OF DENVER, CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING AND ENGAGEMENT, STRENGTHENING THE CITY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY, AND EDUCATING YOUTH TO INSPIRE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, RESPONSIBILITY, AND A FUTURE GENERATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONALS.

THE MUSEUM IS DEDICATED TO ACTIVELY CREATING COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS WHERE CITIZENS CAN HEAR, SEE, FEEL, PARTICIPATE, UNDERSTAND, AND APPRECIATE THE VALUE OF POLICE IN OUR LIVES. THROUGH HANDS-ON LEARNING AND EVENTS, THE MUSEUM TEACHES YOUTH AND COMMUNITIES ABOUT STEM, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, HISTORY, AND POLICING IN OUR CITY. THE MUSEUM IS DEDICATED TO REMEMBERING, PRESERVING, AND UNDERSTANDING THE HISTORY OF THE DENVER POLICE DEPARTMENT. THROUGH OUR FALLEN OFFICER PROJECT, THE MUSEUM SHARES THE STORIES AND HONORS THE LIVES OF THOSE DENVER POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY BY COMMEMORATING THEIR COURAGE, DEDICATION, AND UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO PRESERVING OUR SAFETY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE.


THE DENVER POLICE MUSEUM IS PROUD TO REPORT OUR YOUTH PILOT PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN A GREAT SUCCESS. THE MUSEUM ALONG WITH OUR PARTNERS HAVE HOSTED 9 FULL BLOWN PROGRAMS AND 4 FIELD TRIPS IN 2022, IMPACTING A TOTAL OF 552 STUDENTS. THE MUSEUM HOPES TO BE A LEADER IN YOUTH EDUCATION AND CRIME PREVENTION AS WELL AS A FACILITATOR TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY RELATIONS BETWEEN OUR POLICE AND THE COMMUNITY, FOCUSING ON YOUTH AND FAMILIES. IN KEEPING WITH THIS GOAL, THE MUSEUM HAS DEVELOPED AND IS CONTINUING TO DEVELOP, INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT TRUST-BUILDING, STEM EDUCATION, AND YOUTH VIOLENCE PREVENTION. THE MUSEUM IS SEEKING TO DEMONSTRATE HOW PROGRAMS WITH POSITIVE OFFICER AND YOUTH INTERACTIONS CAN HELP TO OVERCOME FEARS AND MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT POLICE AND PROMOTE GOODWILL AND UNDERSTANDING.
